DC Crashes when trying to take a photo

If you are adding data and go to take a photo and the application crashes, this could be because you don't have a camera app install.

The image search in the Google app uses a custom camera view - so doesn't make use of the default camera app. Some apps whose functionality is heavily reliant on the camera do this in order to customise the UI and options that are available when taking a photo.

Data Collector assumes that there is a camera app available - which Data Collector then delegates the photo taking to.

It might be the case that there is a camera app - but that it is disabled for some reason. You should be able to see all installed apps if you go to 'Settings' then 'Apps & Notifications'.

If there isn't a default camera app installed - then you should be able to install one via the play store - and this should then allow Data Collector to take photos.

Some camera apps that may be available for your device are:

    Open Camera https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.sourceforge.opencamera

HD Camera for Android: XCamera https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=xprocamera.hd.camera

    Google Camera https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.GoogleCamera
