Portal Release Notes

The below information will take you through the updates that are specific to this application. For other information, please consult the respective page on the right.

OpenGround Portal - Data Entry Tech Preview Release (v2393210 - Sept 11 2023)

Known limitations & issues:

Columns

Changes to column widths, visibility (hide/unhide), order, sorting and pinning are not saved.
Some column types that have not been fully implemented yet namely: QuickList, None, Duration, Password, Image, FeetAndInches, Bytes and Geometry.
Double clicking the border of column headers do not resize the column to fit text.
Under Manage Columns, if you by mistake Hide All and click away, there will be no more columns displayed on the grid. If this happens re-open the project and the headers will be visible.

Quicklist

You can only type in a Quicklist field, the Quicklist interface has not been enabled and therefore you will not be able to apply or select Quicklist items created from the Quicklist builder.

Validation message and indicator

Duplicate Sample ID does not display validation error message or indicator on the grid. You will however not be able to save the grid and will get an error message at the bottom right corner.
Editing Latitude/Longitude decimal fields when Eastng/Northing already has a value does not display a validation error but does not allow the user to save.
Trying to save a new row without a parent record such as Location ID does not trigger an error message but does not allow the user to save.

Decimal Places/Significant Figures and Scientific Figures format display

Fields that contain decimal data types will not display as per settings in the configuration pack of their respective headers.

Time Fields

Filtering by time is currently not enabled.
To type in Time Fields you need to click on the cell.
Time fields currently do not display units (e.g hh:mm:ss).
Time fields are not formatted based on configuration pack settings.

Date Time Format

Date and time format settings do not display as per the Pack Options settings in your configuration pack.

Date

You cannot paste in date format in MM/DD/YYYY, only in DD/MM/YYYY.

Project Search, Creation & Selection

OpenGround Portal does not allow you to edit or create a Project.
Double clicking to open a Project is not enabled, to open a project, select it from the Project list and hit View Project.
You can only search by Project ID.

Mapping

Mapping is not implemented and any UI elements referencing mapping e.g the Map marker icon on the top-right of the grids () are just placeholders for future capabilities being considered for future development.

Legend Codes

Only description associated with legends codes display and not the hatch patterns.

Tabbing

Tabbing to the end of a row will not jump to the first field of the next row, instead it will bring you to the first field of the next row that was visible on the grid prior to tabbing to the next row.

Project Explorer

The project explorer has a filter but the only option for now is ‘All Data’.

Pasting

You cannot paste in numbers in exponential form into OpenGround Portal grids.

Pagination

Number of rows per grid/page is currently limited to 50.

Saving

Navigating away from the grid during editing does not auto-save or prompt a warning message. You are required to hit Save to ensure any changes are saved to your project.
Saving large amount of pasted data (e.g > 500 records) does not display a loading indicator which might appear like the grid is frozen. If this happens wait for a successful or validation failure message.

Delete

You cannot delete entire row(s) of data. It is only possible to clear the value in selected field(s).

Miscellaneous

You can only edit one grid at a time. When finished editing Save your changes first then select the next grid. If you do not want to save any of the changes, hit Cancel or select the next grid directly.
Some errors to grid data will not return an error message when you try to save them. The grid will remain in Edit mode and will not save. You can always Cancel the changes if this happens.
There might be some instances where you see only "None" from the cloud selection window, if this happens, as first troubleshooting step, go back to the Login page (https://beta-portal.openground.bentley.com/login) and login again.
Data entry capabilities not implemented – Data entry profiles, Bulk Update, Replicate Location, Secondary Units, Spellcheck, Document manager (upload and view doc).
Major capabilities not implemented – Mapping, Log Preview, Data Import and Export.
