Australia Example File

Many gINT Project Files (.gpj’s) in Australia utilize a structure (data template) that closely mirrors the AGS format.

We have put together an example gINT import mapping file that can be used to import data directly into OpenGround from such gINT Project Files.

The mapping file can be downloaded here.

This mapping file is similar in concept to our UK Example import mapping file. It is based on the standard AGS 3.1 RTA 1.1 import mapping file but has been adapted to work with gINT files, such as to reference gINT system key field names (like ‘Depth’ or ‘ItemKey’ instead of AGS header names).

Importing directly from gINT has some advantages over the alternative workflow of first exporting the gINT data to AGS format for import into OpenGround:

• It avoids an extra data export/conversion step.
• Many AGS data files have data quality issues, which cause errors when importing into OpenGround and require troubleshooting to successfully import. These errors can often be avoided by importing directly from the gINT file.
• gINT files may contain non-AGS data that you would like to import, and the mapping file can be updated to include this.
• The mapping file can be used with OpenGround’s gINT Batch Import Tool.

The provided mapping file can be uploaded as a gINT import mapping to either a project or configuration pack.

Additional information and known issues:

1. The mapping file is intended for use with gINT files that mirror the AGS format. It is not intended for gINT files with alternative structures.
2. The mapping file is designed for use with our standard Australia Configuration Pack.
3. There may be additional tables and fields in your gINT Project Files that are not mapped, or have different names. You can add additional mappings or other customizations to the mapping file as needed.
4. Please refer to our Import Mapping documentation and Common Issues articles if you encounter issues.
5. The mapping file is provided as-is. Please QA/QC the imported data to ensure accuracy and suitability. Comments, suggestions, and error reports are appreciated.
