    Automatically Input Default Data

    Data in fields in INPUT can be automatically populated with default values when new records are created. Four ways are possible:

    Lookup from a parent table field. When you specify this, each new borehole automatically gets its field value from the Default field of the same name in the parent table. For the POINT table, for example, the value would come from the same-name field in the PROJECT table.

    Copy from the field in the row above the new record. With this choice, each new borehole gets its field value from the one above it. When the default entry is overwritten, it becomes the new default for subsequent records.

    Always insert the same value. This choice uses the default value property assigned to the field, inserting the entered value.

    Insert a standard set of sieve sizes. For a Readings field, where a Readings List exists, this setting populates the values stored in the Readings List into the field. If no Readings measurement is entered for a specific value in the pre-populated table, the record is deleted, leaving only the records that have readings measurements in the table. This is a common strategy for sieve sizes in the SV READINGS table:
