Associate a Graphic with Text

You can associate a graphic with text in a label or column so that the same output conditions are applied to both graphic and text.
In a Log report, an associated Discrete Graphic symbol will be included with text when it is output, but will not actually be produced unless the text output conditions are met. This allows you to apply the same output conditions to both text and the associated graphic. This might be done, for example, to allow a water-level marker to be produced with associated information only when there is water-level data.
The water-level graphic, text and data for each of the lines below “Ground Water Levels” are the output for a single entity, in which graphics and text are associated, and output is determined by the entity’s output condition:

Borders can also be added to the entity. We defined borders to create a red box around the first text line entity above. Borders and discrete graphics associated with text can each have their own output condition to meet (as well as the one for the whole entity).
In addition to sharing the entity’s output condition, when graphics and/or borders are associated with text in an entity, maintenance is easier — adjustments can be made to a single entity.
NOTE:
The Project Name, Project Location, Ground Elevation and Hole Size above “Ground Water Levels” in this example represent a different kind of association: Associated Text. This allows text and a single two-point line to be associated in a text entity.
