    Arrange Data by Some Quantity

In Log, Graph, Graphic Table and Text Table reports, data can be sorted on up to two parameters, and arranged in either ascending or descending order. These sort fields are part of the report properties, so they are applied each time the report is output.

Data arranged on output by some quantity can be commanded in the Output screen, but it has to be set up anew each time output is generated. When sort parameters are saved in the report properties, sorting is accomplished automatically by the report.

This Graphic Table summary of lab testing results has been sorted on two fields: first Plastic Limit, then Liquid Limit. The sorted data is presented in descending order, and where the sorted values are both identical, the original key-set sort order (first Point ID, then Depth) takes precedence:

Sorting will take place whenever this particular report is selected in the Output process, without any further intervention by the user.
