Detail descriptions cover features within a layer that do not apply to the entire layer. There are various ways to indicate the depth or depths over which these descriptions apply.
A detail description may cover a feature that covers a vertical zone, a specific depth, or may apply from a certain depth to the end of the layer. The following sample illustrates all three.
