gINT Civil Tools no longer works after installing gINT 10.01

gINT uses the 32-bit version of the Office 2010 Access Database engine. gINT Civil Tools uses the 64-bit version. Microsoft does not support both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the same Office version (2010) on a machine.

The work-around is to install the 64-bit version of the Office 2016 Access Database engine using the “/quiet” switch and the 32-bit version of the Office 2010 Access Database engine using the “/passive” switch.

The following are links to the Access Database Engines you may need.

64-bit version of the Office 2016 Access Database Engine:

32-bit version of the Office 2010 Access Database Engine:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13255

    Directions

    • Download the 32-bit and 64-bit database engines above
    • Open your computer Settings dialogue and select Apps and features
    • Uninstall any and all versions of Microsoft Access database engine

Note: Control Panel lists the Office versions of the Access Database Engine, but not if it is 32 bit or 64 bit. Therefore it is easiest to uninstall the Database engine and install both anew.

    • From the start menu, right click with your mouse on the Command Prompt icon and select More => Run as Administrator
    • Use the change directory command to change the command prompt to be in the file where you downloaded the Database Engines

    • To install the 32-bit 2010 Database Engine, at the command prompt, type exe /passive
    • Accept prompts to let it install
    • To install the 64-bit 2016 Database Engine, at the command prompt, type exe /quiet

The idea is, after the above, there to have different OFFICE versions of the components, 2010 vs 2016 on the PC.
