A resolution if you cannot open a gINT file using gINT version 10.01

Older gINT projects, libraries, and data templates that have not been opened or repaired in gINT version v8i to gINT CONNECT Version 10.00 may not open in gINT 10.01. This is because the older projects, libraries, and data templates are in Access version 1997 or older, and gINT is trying to open that database using a later version of Access.

You can correct this issue quickly in several ways. Below are two options you can use to update the Access database type so that you can open the files in gINT version 10.01.

This issue applies to all 3 gINT file types: project (.gpj), library (.glb) and data template (.gdt) as all three are based on Microsoft Access.

    1. Open the gINT file (.gpj, .glb, and/or .gdt) in gINBT version v8i or later (including gINT CONNECT 10.00). Goto Utiltiies ..Repair Compact and repair the files. Then open the file in gINT 10.01.
      1. note that we have made this shift to gINT 10.01. such that users can keep a previous version of gINT installed on their machine as well as have gINT version 10.01.
    2. Follow the directions in this Microsoft Support post. You need to have Microsoft Access 2003 available.
