    What are Configuration Packs?

    Question

This article will explain what a configuration pack is and what the components of a pack are.

    Answer

Configuration packs are packages used within HoleBASE SI to enable customisation that can then be exported and used in other projects when needed.

    Explanation

Configuration Packs can contain a number of components that can be used to setup the HoleBASE SI system to fit your organisation's needs. Once a project has then been setup as required, it can then be used as a 'template' to be used when creating new projects.

Configuration Components (*.hbc files) are the individual customisations that individualise a project. These can contain a number of customisations to any of the individual component types below.

Once these have been imported (or created within) a project, the project can then be used within HoleBASE SI to create a 'template' that can be used as a base for when creating new HoleBASE SI projects. To do this, create a Configuration Pack from the project used as a template..

When creating a new project, the Configuration Pack will then appear for selection, allowing for the customisations made in the template project to be applied to the new one.
