AGS Import Warning : [Field Name] will be ignored because the destination is a calculated field

    Issue Summary

When importing AGS data into HoleBASE SI there are occasions where some of the columns of data are expected to be derrived from other columns data. There are a number of examples of this, these typically constituting the reported results of an insitu test. Perhaps the most common occurance relates to the issue of an N Value result or Reported Result in an SPT test, as in the example above.

    Resolution

In the case of the SPT result the N Value is derrived by reading the blows for each increment of the test (the nature of such a calculation can be adapted according to the resources available in this article). This assumes that the data is supplied in a 'complete' fashion; what then can be done if only the N value result is reported and not any of the source increment data?

It is possible to remove the tag associated with a column of data such as the ISPT N value which marks it as being a calculated field. This done, the data will simply import as it is found in the incoming data. Thus, the ISPT N Value results can be imported where there are no source increment values to be found.

The calculated tag is defined within the configuration pack which might be applied to more than one project. Therefore, revisions to this setting will need to be applied by a user with the privledges to make such changes. Once logged in select the relevant pack under 'System | Configuration Packs', highlight the appropriate pack and click 'Manage Model'. From here select 'Standard Penetration Tests' (or whichever grid name is appropriate), click 'Edit' and select 'N Value' (or the appropriate column name) from the list. Click 'Edit' and uncheck the box for 'Active' under the 'Caculated Field' heading. Save the changes and the import of the ISPT N Value (or similar) will then be permitted.
