Is it possible to change the symbols and colours used to represent locations in Civils

Question

Can you change the symbols and colours used to represent locations using the Civils Extension.

Answer

The Civil Extension has some capacity to change the Plan Point which represent the Locations. This can be achieved in the Styles Manager. To fully customise the locations you need to use the settings within AutoCAD itself.

Explanation

The Styles Manager gives the user some limited control over how the Plan Points look. You can change the point symbol and the plan label by selecting the style you wish to edit or by creating a brand new style. From here you can select the plan point and plan label from the respective drop downs. The list is limited to defaults set up out of the box for the user. As you can see from the below screen shot for the Test Style in current use the plan point displayed on the drawing will be the tree symbol and the Plan Label is point coordinates and level.

the result of these changes are:

If you wish to edit this further for example by adding/changing a symbol not in the list or altering size, colour etc then you will need to be familiar with the respective functions in AutoCAD.
