Connect button for the Excel Extension does not work

Issue Summary:

A lot of users have reported that the connect button no longer works in the extension.

After investigation it transpires that a recent Microsoft Windows update was the cause.

To find out if you are affected go to File, then Account followed by About Excel and check the version number. If your version number if it contains the numbers 16.0.8201 like the one below you may be affected:

Resolution:

There is a new build of the Excel Extension available to download https://communities.bentley.com/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-wikis-components-files/00-00-00-01-05/7282.MissingImage.png. This will resolve the issue enabling you to connect to your database.
