    How To Display a Full Location Type Rather than an Abbreviation

    Explanation

    If you wish to show the location type full name, for example "Cable Percussion" rather than "CP" then you need to use an expression in Tempate Studio to do so. If you have multiple location types that you would need to cover in the expression then you use "If" staments embedded within each other to get the result.

    Process

    The below example covers numerous location types. When you add the expression to the Properties box please remember to set the "Group" as;

    • "Depth Related Exploratory Hole Information(DepthRelatedExploratoryInformation)"

    then edit the expression to match the location types you need, then copy it to the "Expression" box;

    • if([DepthRelatedExploratoryInformation.Type]='CP','Cable Percussion',if([DepthRelatedExploratoryInformation.Type]='WS','Window Sample',if([DepthRelatedExploratoryInformation.Type]='HA','Hand Auger',if([DepthRelatedExploratoryInformation.Type]='CPR','Cable Percussion/Rotary Core',if([DepthRelatedExploratoryInformation.Type]='RO','Rotary Open Hole',if([DepthRelatedExploratoryInformation.Type]='X','Dynamic Sampler / Rotary Open Hole',if([DepthRelatedExploratoryInformation.Type]='WS+RC','Window Sampler with Rotary Core',if([DepthRelatedExploratoryInformation.Type]='CP+RC','Cable Percussion with Rotary Core',if([DepthRelatedExploratoryInformation.Type]='CP+RO','Cable Percussion with Rotary Open Hole','')))))))))
