How To Set Tests to restricted

Explanation

When you have a test which cannot be performed for some reason you can use the restricted status. This is very important as you can then report this so the client can see why the test was not completed.

Process

Restricting a test is a change of status. Right click on the test in the test window and change the status. When you do a comment box will come up.

You can put any comments into the box and this will be saved against the test. If you need to unrestrict the test you can set the status back to in progress. When you unrestrict a test you will need to put a comment which is again save against the test.

Reporting Restricted Tests Information

If you need to get the information about restricted test on a project you can use the management reports.

Once you have selected the restricted test report you can select the projects. It will then produce a report showing a list of the samples which were restricted and the comments. this report also includes any unrestriction comments as well.

This report can be saved or printed using excels normal printing and saving feature.
