How to Reference the Schedule Name on a test sheet

First impression suggest that it is possible to insert a reference cell to show the schedule name within KeyLAB as the field is not listed for selection in the interface. However, with a little work it is possible to show the value.

When designing an input or output sheet Insert | Reference Cell in the usual manner. Pick off one of the fields from the 'Test Details' categories which is not already in use on the sheet - 'DependentTestOptions', 'MethodAndTestParameters' and 'PreparationRequirements' all work well as they are similar in format to the schedule name:

Note that when the specified cell is selected the associated field name is referenced in the Excel name manager:

Replace the text in the Excel name manager (i.e. "KeyLABTest.PreparationR..." in the example above) with the following:

    KeyLABTest.Schedule

...this is the schedule name field. On hitting return you may notice that the name manager reverts to the field previously specified. If this is the case you will see that "KeyLABTest.Schedule" is now available on the list of names available - simply select it from the name manager drop down list:

Double check that the name manger reports "KeyLABTest.Schedule" for this cell, save changes to the sheet and review with some data - you should now find that the value appears as required.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

Note that this article is correct at the time of writing. A wishlist item has been added to list the Schedule Name as an available field when inserting a reference cell, which would obviously be preferable, and thus this article may become superceeded in the future. However, the general technique can be used for extracting fields which are not otherwise available in the interface.
