How To Import AGS files and Not Duplicate Samples or Lose Any Changes

    Explanation

If you have already imported an AGS file for a project and the client sends you another additional file with a new batch of sample and includes the previous batch. How do you make sure you don't lose any of the changes you have already made ie storage locations, sample description or duplicate the same already in KeyLAB?

    Process

When importing an AGS file using the manage drop down and import file option there is a process which will help.

The first step is selection you updated file. From there is will match the file with the project you already have in KeyLAB using the PROJ_ID.

The above image shows the window which give information about what KeyLAB has already match up and anything which is going to be added. There is the line which says "AGS file contains 3 new samples" and "AGS file contains 17 out of 17 existing samples".

This window shows all the samples in the AGS file. If they are in light brown they are already in KeyLAB anything which is not is new. You can select only the samples which aren't already in KeyLAB and hit finish.

Doing this will make it so you only import the samples which are new and ignore any which are already in KeyLAB thus not duplication samples or disrupting any work already performed.
