Question

What do I do if the Geotechnical Functions Addin is not loaded in KeyLAB 2?

Answer

The Geotechnical Functions part of KeyLAB 2 can occasionally not load when needed within the application. This will be noticable when trying to use any KeyLAB sheet that is dependant on these functions.

Process

The geotechnical functions can be re-added with the following steps.

1. Open the Add-ins dialog via File > Options > Addin > Manage 'Excel Add-ins' > Go.

2. Click Automation... and select 'AutomationAddin.GeotechnicalFunctions' as shown below.

More Information

The following is based on a solution provided by Keynetix Support.

If you find you don't have AutomationAddin.GeotechnicalFunctions listed in the Automation Servers window do the following:

Close excel and run command prompt as admin, google it if not sure how. Now input the following:

cd C:\Program Files\Keynetix\KeyLAB2

Or input whatever is your path to the KeyLab2 installation folder, now press enter.
Next input the following

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\regasm.exe GeotechnicalFunctions.dll /codebase

Now press enter and it should post a bunch of text but state the addin is registered or words to that effect. If not download and install .net framework 4 and repeat the preceding steps.
