If you wish to use Civils Ext with Roaming Profiles, the steps below should help with the setup.
It seems Autocad doesn't like UNC paths to server locations for its user root directory.
This seems to solve the problem for Roaming users:
0) Map the users server stored "Roaming" user profile to a Local drive letter: eg:Net Use X: "\\ServerName\Users$\%UserName%"
1) Go to REGEDIT: and search for this key: HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-#####-#####-#####-#####\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R23.1\ACAD-3000:409\ "RoamableRootFolder" change from : \\ServerName\Users$\UserName%\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\C3D 2020\enu\ to: X:\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\C3D 2020\enu\
(NOTE1: swap "S-1-5-21-#####-#####-#####-#####" for appropriate users key) (NOTE2: Swap "R23.1\ACAD-3000:409" for appropriate Autocad version) (NOTE3: So "RoamableRootFolder" is now pointing to a drive letter not UNC path!) 2) Make sure 'Users' have modify access to the folder and subfolders of: "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins"
3) Check these are present! OPTIONS --> FILES -->Support File Search Paths: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\HoleBASE_Civil3D_CONNECT_Edition_2020.bundle\Contents C:\Program Files\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\HoleBASE_Civil3D_CONNECT_Edition_2020.bundle\Contents\Hatches C:\Program Files\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\HoleBASE_Civil3D_CONNECT_Edition_2020.bundle\Contents\LogBlocks C:\Program Files\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\HoleBASE_Civil3D_CONNECT_Edition_2020.bundle\Contents\USCSHatches
4) Make sure Cuix is cleanly loaded (Remove first if already there) (using Cui / Cuiload) from: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\HoleBASE_Civil3D_CONNECT_Edition_2020.bundle\Contents\Menu\HB_Connect.cuix
