    Error or Warning Message

"Path/file or access error" on opening gINT.

    Explanation

This is almost always a permissions problem.

    How to Avoid

    gINT 8.3

Users need full control of files in 2 places:

    Windows 7 and Vista:

    • C:\Users\Public\Documents\Bentley\gINT
    • C:\Users\<user_login_name>\AppData\Local\Bentley\gINT

    Windows XP:

    • C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Bentley\gINT or C:\Documents
    • C:\Documents and Settings\<user_login_name>\Local Settings\Application Data\Bentley\gINT

Note: some folders may be hidden.

In rare cases gINT has needed to be run as administrator.

    gINT 8.2 and earlier

gINT needs to be run as administrator.
Users will need full control to the subfolders where gINT is installed, except for the BIN folder. That path will vary, depending on the build of gINT and the operating system. It will be found in one of these places:

     C:\Program Files\Bentley\gINTC:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\gINTC:\Program Files\gINTC:\Program Files (x86)\gINT

This is the other place users need full control:

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\gINT Software orC:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\gINT Software
