Description Before taking this class, you should have WaterCAD or WaterGEMS installed and running on your own machine. In the hands-on portion, you will use your own computer to follow along with the instructor and analyze a simple water distribution system. (Participants are urged to use either dual monitors or two devices for this portion of the class.) The hands-on workshop includes: • Network layout • Network element properties • Demand data • Scenarios and alternatives • FlexTables • Basic controls • Steady-state and extended-period simulation • Network color coding and annotation • Graphing In the second part of the class, the instructor will provide information and brief demonstrations on the additional features and capabilities of WaterCAD and WaterGEMS listed below. For both WaterCAD and WaterGEMS: • ModelBuilder • LoadBuilder • TRex • Active/Inactive Topology • Skeletonizing the network • Automated fire flow • Pressure zone manager • Pump performance • Energy cost • Water quality • Criticality • Flushing For WaterGEMS only: • Pipe Renewal Planner • Darwin Calibrator • Darwin Designer • SCADA Connect
