Import submodel including only pumps

Hi guys,

I've just faced a very weird issue about importing submodels.

I deleted everything from a former model except pumps. I tried to import that model into another one containing only pipes as submodel. All the pumps lost their coordinates... they were imported into X,Y (0,0).

Is there something might have missed?

  • Hi Attila,

If you're using the latest release and the problem is specific to your model/data, you can upload a copy of the files needed to reproduce using this process:

  • Hi,

I've uploaded the files as confidential.

Both project files are saved by WaterCAD CONNECT XXXX.50.
I even tried to export my pump data to excel, and then Import them by model builder. Exported model builder .xml is included in the ZIP. Same result-> Pumps are at 0,0.

    Best regards,

PS.:Localization is Hungarian on my desktop, which means my decimal separator is a comma ',' instead of dot.

  • Hello Attila,

I could reproduce the issue you mentioned with your model files, when i imported the pumps as submodel into another model, the coordinates were 0,0 for pumps.

However i followed the same process you mentioned, imported pumps from a sample model into your pipes model, as submodel, the pumps were imported with the correct coordinates. We are investing this further.

  • Hi Attila,

I took a quick look and found that the issue may be related to some duplicate alternatives in the model, which all have the same name. I removed all scenarios and alternatives except for the base scenario and its alternatives, then the import started to work. We'll take a closer look but in the meantime hopefully this allows you to continue.
