Average to max day calculations

Hello:

I was trying to calculate the average to max day  peaking factor. I used flow data for 5 years and got a factor of  around 1.5.

Please find attached the spread sheet. Is this how one calculates average to max ratio? Dec-march are the hottest months in Queanbeyan.

thanks,

Indu

  • Hi Indu,

    I looked at the spreadsheet and based on the way it's calculated I have a question about Max day. In my understanding, Max day demand is the highest daily demand for the range or that year.

    to me,

       Max Day Demand for xx year (MDD) = MAX(Demand_data_for_xx_year)
       Average Day Demand for xx year (ADD) = AVERAGE(Demand_data_for_xx_year)
       Ratio = MDD/ADD

    Hope this helps,
