changing physical alternative

Hello,

i'm trying to create base scenario for alternative design and i will have to delete or add some pipe that is why i have created base physical alternative. but when i tried to delete a pipe it has been deleted also from all previous physical alternative.

does that mean i can not delete a pipe in one physical alternative alone?

  • Hello Ahmed,

Could you send us a copy of the model? There are two options for sharing your model files on Communities. If you would like the files to be visible to other members, compress the files into a zip file and upload them as an attachment using the ‘Advanced Reply editor’ before posting. If your data is confidential, you can follow the instructions in the link below to send it to us via Bentley Sharefile. Files uploaded to Sharefile can only be viewed by Bentley.

If you upload to Sharefile, please post the name of the file here so we know it is available.

    Regards,
    Scott
  • Ahmed, just to clarify since you mentioned "delete" - even when using active topology alternatives, deleting an element deletes it from the model and from all scenarios/alternatives. The purpose of using active topology alternatives is to set the element's "is active?" status to "false" in a scenario that you essentially want it "deleted" from. This will cause it to not be considered in calculations for scenarios that use that alternative, yet other scenarios that use another active topology alternative could have that element "active" and therefore considered in the calculations. More on this can be seen in the Support solution article previously provided.
