Model isn't run on Darwin Calibrator

Hi Jesse Dringoli

I send to you a model that model from SAWACO utilities on secure upload, When I try to Darwin Calibrator it always appear this bug "(N/A)"An error occurred when trying to calibrate the model. Please check the model for errors." We checked every aspects and it can run hydraulic calculation, but it isn't in Darwin Calibrator. Would you please let me know how I can fixed this bug?

Thanks and regards,

  • What is name of your uploaded file/model?

  • I take that back - the other thread was originally based on a different question that had a verified answer. We can use this thread for the error when attempting to compute the optimized run. Apologies for the confusion.

It looks like Calibrator has a problem with certain special characters in the file name: MẠNG HIỆN HỮU - HOÀN CHỈNH.wtg

If you rename the file excluding those special characters, then run Tools > Database Utilities > Compact Database, Calibrator will compute without the error in question. The name I tested with is MANG HIEN HUU - HOAN CHINH.wtg. Note the following characters were renamed: Ạ, Ệ, Ữ, À and Ỉ. I tested the fix in both the latest version (08.11.05.61) as well as the version you're currently using.

I have attached the below Support Solution to this thread to document the fix:

    communities.bentley.com/.../21955.an-error-occurred-when-trying-to-calibrate-the-model

I have also submitted defect # 224014 so our developers can investigate improving Calibrator in future versions to prevent the error in the presence of certain special characters.

  • Thank you,

Yeah, I will try to explain to my customer, some special characters that's because Vietnamese language, I have already compacted database but it isn't run in this model, but another models, which have the same problem, can run when I compacted database.

In this model when I reconstruct model by (file > import > WaterGEMS/Hammer database) it has broken down network connectivity. I guess that problem that "user define length two long when compared with geometry length". It mean that "2000 meter User Length Define" & "geometry length just less than 1 meter". Please explain it

    Thank you again,
    Dang,
