I am having problems importing a LandXML into terrain model in sewergems. I am using a XML file created in Autocad 2014. The terrain model says the XML file is in the wrong format. Can sewergems use XML land files imported from autocad 2014? Is there any specific format the XML file must be in? I am using series 5 Sewergems.
Look forward to your response.
Could you please upload the screenshot of the error that you are getting while importing the .xml file as a terrain model source? It should not be a problem, if the .xml file is created in Autocad 2014. .xml is the correct format for importing the Landxml files. Could you please upload the .xml file for our testing? When I imported the .xml as a terrain model, it took me almost half an hour to import the terrain model. But it dint give me any error as it gave to you. Instead it got imported as seen below.
We shall update you when we have more information about this particular Landxml file.
I have the same problem using SewerGEMS connect edition V10 and Civil 3D 2018, Is there any solution?
I have found the reason for this issue after many attempts, that SewerGems not accepting any surface has modification by (Boundaries) option under the definition tab so i were have 2 options to solve:
1 .clean the surface from any edits in boundaries option then export as landxml.
2. extract 3D polylines from countours of the modified surface and copy it then open new civil 3d tab file and paste the 3D Polylines and convert it to Surface then Export it.
I hope this solve the problem with any one have it.
The LandXML file needs to have a formal boundary specified.
For future reference, the following article discusses this issue and another method to fix it.
LandXML Terrain Model does not obey boundary lines
