WaterGEM Batch-run process

Hi everyone,

I am very new to this software and  I hope someone can help me out with this problem:

I have a water distribution model which I would like to have a batch run process to analysis every node with 10 different flow demands and output the pressure and velocity of that node (and adjacent nodes) for a 24-hour period. The results (pressure & velocity of that node) can be outputted into txt or any other formats.

Is there a in-build function to do this batch-run process or others ways to work around it?

Your help will be much appreciated.

    Do you mean that you want to have case where every node has 10 different demands and batch run all these cases/scenarios?
    You can create different scenarios and alternatives for each i.e. 10 scenarios and alternatives. You need to have multiple demand alternatives as you have multiple demands.

    Once you have created the Scenarios and their corresponding Alternatives, you can batch run those together to have results together. (Batch run is explained in the above mentioned technote).

    For the 24-hour run period, change the time analysis type to EPS in the calculation options. When you have computed the model, you can see results of pressure and velocity etc. in the reports tab. You can export the results in the text format as well.

    Thank you so much for your suggestion. Yes, I would like to have every node with 10 different demands and analyse them independently. In each scenario, only the demand in one of the nodes will change, while all other nodes' demands remain as the base case scenario.

    The problem is that model contains more than 5,000 nodes, so it is hard to create all these scenarios and alternatives manually. (10 different demands for each node, so 5000 nodes will have 50,000 scenarios to set up.)

    Do you know whether there is a method to create all the scenarios and alternatives in a batch-run?
  • The logical question first is "Why would you want to do that?" That is not standard practice for design.

    The model will be used to provide a quick response to land developers on how much water the network can provide in each location. If all the scenarios can be analysed at the first place, we will have all the answers before receiving developers' inquiries.
