Sewer System Capcity

how can I find the system capacity in the sewergems/stormcad? it might use it for storage for certain time.

Regards......Mohamad

  • Mohamad,

In order to find the total system capacity you'll first need to find the total volume each pipe can hold. You can do this by creating a formula based user data extension (UDX) based on Pi * r ^2 (if you're talking about circular pipes) and then add up the total volume of all the pipes. You can do this either using an Excel spreadsheet or by adding the newly created UDX field to the flextable then right clicking on the column header and choosing statistics. The directions in the wiki below outline how to create a formula UDX:

Please know that this will give you the total volume for the all the pipes in the entire system, thus the total system capacity, so I'm not sure how that could be used for storage at certain times. Could you please elaborate as to what purpose this might serve?
