Area defined for cathment in stormcad

Hello sir,

I have few Question regarding Stormwater design:

1.I want to know the process for define a Catchment area for stormCAD. I have a sewerCAD V8i Licence version.

2.How can we design network if some drainage pipes/conduits are existing in network?

Please provide sugetion

Thank you

Rohit

  • Hello Rohit,

    1) Catchments can either be laid out manually using the catchment tool in the layout toolbar, or they can be imported from an external data source. If you have a background layer with catchment areas, you can add it in the Background Layers manager, then trace over it when creating catchments with the catchment layout tool. If you have the catchments as polygons in a DXF or shapefile, you can use Modelbuilder to import them, which will automatically pick up on their geometry. (vertex coordinates) Here are some related articles that may help:

If this does not help, please explain more about what you are trying to do.

    2) If you want automated design to only design certain elements, while keeping existing elements as they are, this can be done in the properties of those elements. For example to "fix" an outfall at a certain elevation and prevent it from being changed during automated design, select "false" for "Design Structure Elevation?". See below article:

Automated design only on certain elements
