WaterGEMS for ArcMap Network Editing

I am working on a WaterGEMS model within the ArcMap version, and am having issues editing my pipe/junction network.   Tools like "merge nodes in close proximity" appear to be unavailable within the ArcMap version? Also, I am trying to disconnect a pipe from one junction and re-connect it to another junction without having to re-draw it.  Doesn't look like I can do that either?

  • Hi Chris,

Did you go to ArcMap's Editor > Start Editing command before trying to use these tools? Also, use the selection arrow from the WaterGEMS toolbar when selecting elements.

  • Hi Kristen,

Yes, I am in an edit session and using the WaterGEMS selection tool.  Should I just be able to right click on a junction I want to merge and select "merge nodes in close proximity"?  When I right click on a junction with the WaterGEMS selection tool I get the ArcMap options and not the WaterGEMS editing options that I would expect in the stand alone WaterGEMS version.

Is it possible that I my version of WaterGEMS and ArcMap aren't compatible? My WaterGEMS version is 08.11.06.58 and my ArcMap version is 10.2.2.3552.

    Thanks for your help!

    Chris

  • Hi Chris,

I'm using the same versions you are for both, with an Editor-level license. When I right-click with the WaterGEMS selection tool, I get the WaterGEMS context menu. (I get the ArcMap context menu when using the ArcMap selection tool.) You could try re-running the integrator, but otherwise tech support may need to take it from here.

  • Hi Chris,

You mentioned that you're right clicking with the WaterGEMS Selection tool. Can you confirm that you're using the one circled below in red? Using the same versions you have, I see the Merge Nodes option when right-clicking (after entering an Edit session).

  • One more sanity check...your WaterGEMS project is open and current? (You should be able to use other WaterGEMS tools and commands.)
