Export SewerCAD model and results to GIS format (ArcGIS)?

Hi,

Is it possible to export SewerCAD model and results to GIS format (ArcGIS)? Or how do you import the data into ArcGIS?

Thanks,

Colm.

  • The best solution is to upgrade to SewerGEMS where you can run your model from within the GIS.

You can also build a link between the model and GIS using Model Builder and export that way. But you need to be careful. GIS administrators usually only want current facilities in their enterprise GIS, while a lot of modeling deals with designing future facilities.
  • Hi, thanks for the information. Is it possible to export the data in SewerGEMS to GIS format?
  • Hi Colm,

If it's just a one off thing, the easiest thing to do is open a FlexTable (View > FlexTable) for each feature type you are interested in exporting (Conduit, Manhole, etc.), the click the Export to File button in the top left corner. This will allow you to save the features to an Esri Shapefile (note that you may have to edit some of the field names because shapefiles have a 10 character limit).

If you want to regularly update the GIS, you should create a ModelBuilder connection (as Tom mentions above). Please let us know if you need more information about that.

    Regards,

    Mal
