WaterGEMS - Can't import pipes from geodatabase

The following issue only affects one of our computers. Our other computer is able to import without difficulty. This leads me to suspect it is a faulty install, but I'd like to see if there are any proposed solutions before doing a complete uninstall/reinstall.

Both computers are using WaterGEMS SELECTseries 5, 08.11.05.61, 32-bit, and ArcGIS 10.2.2.

When attempting to import pipes from a geodatabase using ModelBuilder in ArcGIS, everything goes smoothly through the connection setup process. When building the model, however, it gives the error ‘Pipe Error: Unable to open table Pipe’, and no pipes are imported. When you look at the connection setup, it appears to have no problem viewing the table (all entries show up properly both in the initial Query tab and the Preview tab of the Field Mappings section.

It has no problem importing point features. The pipe import problem has been replicated using an SDE geodatabase, a File geodatabase on a shared server, and a file geodatabase on the C drive. That last database was set up as simply as possible - a single dataset with a simple line feature class and only a single pipe feature. The problem occurs whether GIS IDs, labels, or the WaterGEMS <label> are used. It occurs even if there is only a single feature (so no possibility of duplicate items). It occurs even when the 'create node if none present' and 'establish connectivity' options are turned on.

We've tried exporting a connection file that works on one computer and importing it to the problem computer, and get the same error.

The problem computer is able to import pipes from shapefiles, so it appears to be something specific about line features in geodatabases that it doesn't like.

I think that covers all the lessons learned from the help articles below. Are there any other steps we can take or things to try before reinstalling?
