I am a new user to WaterGEMS, and I am trying to build a system from scratch.
I have figured out a number of shortcuts, but this one is perplexing to me.
When the program assigns valves to the nearest pipe, it assigns them at the midpoint of the pipe. This is problematic because it changes the layout of the system by putting valves on the wrong side of fire hydrant laterals.
The attached image shows a point in the system where you can see three instances of this. Three separate valves (arrows) are assigned to the nearest pipe at the point on the dotted line. But that point is on the wrong side of a lateral with another valve and hydrant in all three occasions (in boxes).
Is there a command that assigns the valves to the nearest pipe at the nearest point? That would make a lot more sense, to me.
