well , i have outlet higher than the last manhole invert level in my stormwater network .... what is the optimum way to deal with this situation ? since i confused ... i see alot of things in stormcad software like ( pond, wet well, pump and pump station) i dont know what to use for a highway in urban area !!
It's difficult to tell what the problem is from your brief description.
Usually, it would be because
1. You designed slopes are too steep,
2. You are not following the natural slopes in the area,
3 You are trying to make the water flow uphill by gravity.
Look at the natural slope in the area and try to use that.
thank you sir for reply, its like a low point in the network.... and i think i have to use a pump.. but i dont know how or what to use (pond, wet well, pump or pump station)
thanks mr. tom that was my question
thanks sushma, i have another question : what about (pump station) element.. what the use of it ?
Hydraulic calculations are done at the pump level.
Pump station elements are useful tor looking at pump interactions and aggregating energy costs. Pump stat6ions use the results from the pump calculations.
and why i cant find (Pumps Definitions Dialog Box) under (Components) section ???
Hello Mahmoud,
As mentioned earlier, pump definitions are not applicable in StormCAD GVF rational solver, here the pumps are ideal flow pumps. Meaning flow in =flow out i.e the flow coming from wet well will be all passed through pump.
Please see below mentioned wiki, to understand how pumps operate with each solver.
How do pumps work with each solver
