Hello I am interning at a rural water district and they have a WaterCAD Version 3.1 license running on old Windows XP computer and they want to try to use the files they already have on a newer computer but I have concerns about compatibility issues. Can you provide any advice? They also have ArcGIS 10.2 running on another Windows XP computer. Would it be easier to import the files into that system?
Thank you in advance.
Was the Water model created in a newer version of WaterCAD? The reason I ask is because older versions of the software cannot open files that were created in a more recent version.

Sorry for the confusion, the files were created on the XP computer running 3.1 and they want to use a newer OS.
WaterCAD 3.1 will not run on a newer operating system, but it can be used on a virtual machine that is running Windows XP.

What is the name of the water district that you're interning for? There may be an option for them to upgrade to a newer version and if not I can provide more information about upgrading if needed.
Rural Water District #2 in Mayes County Oklahoma.
Thank you. It does not appear that the district is eligible for a upgrade as part of the SELECT subscription. If someone would like more information about upgrading the can call 1-800-236-8539 and choose option 1.
Ok. Thank you very much or the information.
