Sewer Gems to HAMMER

Hi,

I have a Sewer Gems project file and I want to open it in HAMMER, how do I go about doing that?  Do I need the same versions of each program?  I tried exporting a few different files from Sewer Gems and then importing into HAMMER but nothing worked.

  • Hello Amanda,

HAMMER cannot directly import a SewerGEMS model, since the file formats are different. Plus, HAMMER would not be able to model the gravity portion of the SewerGEMS model. You would need to recreate the pressure subnetwork in HAMMER in order to model the transient. If there are a substantial number of elements, the best way to do this would be to export the pressure elements into a shapefile format and then import the shapefiles into HAMMER using ModelBuilder. The following link has information on this: Can the storm-sewer products perform a transient analysis in the sewer force mains? If there are only a few products, you may be able to add the elements manually.

    Regards,
