Comparison of HGL for pump control

I'm looking for a way to compare 2 tank HGLs for a pump control.

For example:

If T-1 HGL >= 100 AND T-1 HGL > T-2 HGL Then turn off pump.

So I want to turn the pump off when T-1 HGL is greater than 100 but only if T-2 HGL is larger than T-1 HGL.

Any thoughts on how to accomplish this?

  • Hello,

You can apply operational controls on the pump in the pump properties. As per your example I have modeled a small network wherein I have specified a few controls on the pump operation. However the control can be set to a particular value only. For example Time > 14:00; HGL >=100 m; Flow > 10 L/s. For comparing the HGL's of two tanks you need to find the relationship between the two tank HGL's and a control can be set such as HGL for T-1>=100 m AND HGL for T-2 >=102 m.

Please see the snapshot of the model. If it is not similar to the case you are describing please share your model via the link provided.
