WaterGEMS Model for Unidirectional Flushing analysis: If the demand data is allocated by importing Customer Meter Element, would it interfere with flushing analysis?

We are using WaterGEMS V8i SELECT Series 6.

We are in the process of building a model for unidirectional flushing.

For the model, we are planning to import the demand data using Customer Meter Element.

Have there been any interference of Customer Meter Elements with Unidirectional Flushing analysis?

If that is the case, we prefer to allocated demand using a conventional method.

We truly appreciate your input.

Thank you.

  • Jesse,

Thank you so much for your reply and adding a note in the Wiki article!

You tested using the latest version, but I am assuming from your answer that our version also will work.

    Yes?

  • Hello Yoko, yes, I would expect customer meters to work in flushing in earlier versions as well. I have not tested it to make sure, but if you can provide your exact version number, I can spend some time testing. There were a few versions of "SELECTseries 6". Under Help > About, provide the version number seen in the lower left corner. For example 08.11.06.113.

I would recommend upgrading to CONNECT Edition either way (see benefits in the articles linked to in my previous pots).

  • Jesse,

    Thank you for your reply.

    Our WaterGEMS version is 08.11.06.113

    Thanks again.

  • Hello Yoko, thanks for providing the version number. From a quick test in WaterGEMS 08.11.06.113, customer meters correctly applied their demands during a flushing simulation.
