How should I approach this?

Hi all,

So I'm working on a unidirectional flow project and I have trouble approaching this project.

I've encountered two problems and I don't know how to go about it.

1) there's one account and 2 uses (indoor and irrigation), should I combine the two? or should I use one as opposed to the other?

2) the other problem is almost the complete opposite, I have two accounts that corresponds to the same address.

If anyone could give me a couple pointers that would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you so much in advance!

  • Sushma and Jesse,

Thank you for replying to Huy's question.

Huy and I work together and we are going to import billing data as customer meter elements.

    Q. 1 When a consumer has one account number and one address, but two meters - one for indoor use and another for irrigation, could we import them as two separate customer meter elements, like Jesse mentioned in your reply?  For now, we're planning to import 'Account Number', which is associated with each meter as 'Billing ID' in WaterGEMS. As long as two customer meter elements have different ID number given automatically during the import process, can they have the same Billing ID?

    Q. 2 If we have several customer accounts on the same address, separate customer meter elements are created, but shown on the same spot, correct?

Thank you so much for your response in advance!

  • Hello Yoko,

    1. Yes,, you can have separate customer elements for these two purposes of indoor use and irrigation use, which will connect to the same junction meaning adding demands to one junction only. About billing ID, two customer meters can have one unique ID, I tested this in the latest version and it does accept same billing ID for two customer element.
    2. If you have several customer accounts on the same address then those will shown at the same spot since their location is same.

Here is detailed information about customer elements, for your reference.
