Hello,
I created a model with ModelBuilder, specifying a Data Souorce of ESRI Shapefile (Pipe.shp). That Pipe.shp contains 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 20, and 24 inch diameter pipes. Problem is, only 6" diameter pipe were added to the model.
Is there a setting within the ModelBuilder import sequence that toggles which diameter pipes are inserted?
Is there a way to insert all diameter pipes at once?
Thanks in advance for responses,
Dave
Hello David,
The default pipe diameter is 6", so I suspect that you may not have mapped the diameter field in the field mapping step of ModelBuilder. ModelBuilder will not automatically know which fields in your source file map to which fields in the model. In the field mapping step, please be sure to map the diameter field in your shapefile to the diameter field in WaterGEMS. See the section called "Specify Field mappings for each Table/Feature Class" in this article:
Using ModelBuilder to Import External Data
If you are saying that the polylines in the shapefile that do not represent 6 inch pipes are not showing up at all after the import, then first check the "preview" tab in ModelBuilder to see if the field that contains the diameters are showing the correct numbers, and that the expected number of rows is displayed. The only thing that would cause pipes to be omitted would be:
a) You used the WHERE clause in the first ModelBuilder step to apply a filter
b) The linework associated with those missing pipes has a problem or is of an unsupported shape type.
