Respected Bentley Experts,
I want to know about Flow / capacity (design) % in Sewegmes software. On which bases it calculating ?
- Your sincerely,
Vidhi Mehta
Hello Vidhi,
The flow/capacity (%) is the ratio of current flow in the conduit by the design capacity for that pipe.
The capacity is the full flow that the conduit can allow. This depends on the diameter of the pipe.
Thus if your current flow is 5 cumecs and the capacity of the conduit is 10 cumecs then your ratio would be 5/10, 0.5 or 50% full.
Hope this helps.

ok ....now can you tell me how it calculates the Capacity (full flow) ? in my case I have given d/D = 0.8 and dia of pipe 150 mm.
Capacity (Full Flow) is the flow through the conduit if normal depth were equal to the top of the conduit. This value is calculated with Manning's equation and is based on the assumption that flow through the conduit is at a normal flow condition and the normal depth equals the rise of the conduit (for circular conduit the rise = diameter).
You can find the difference between different capacities from the following article;
What is the difference between Capacity (Full Flow), Capacity (Design), Capacity (Excess Full Flow), and Capacity (Excess Design)?
