How to create a water distribution network using Qgis and import it for analysis in watergems

  • Hello Janith,

If Qgis is a hydraulics program like WaterGEMS, you may be able to export the model to an EPANET format. Once you do that, you can import this EPANET file into WaterGEMS by going to File > Import > EPANET.

If Qgis is a GIS program (like ArcMap), see if the data can be stored into shapefiles. If so, you can use ModelBuilder to import the shapefile data to build a model. This link has details on how to use shapefiles, as well as other external data, in ModelBuilder: Using ModelBuilder to Import External Data.

    Regards,

    Scott
