HOW TO SET UP NEW TOPOLOGY SCENARIOS?

Hello Bentley ...

I have a model which I imported through the model builder. Can someone please give me a step by step guide on how I can be able to perform hydraulic analysis on the same model using different scenarios by introducing other new pipelines? Or, after simply introducing a new element such as a VALVE/PUMP, how can I set up a new scenario in the same file to accommodate my changes?

My worry is that when I make changes in the new scenario it affects the base scenario.

In the attached file, is it possible for me to create a new scenario in which all the PRVs will be replaced by 5m3 tanks which will act as pressure breakers?adopted.zip

  • There are a lot of ways of doing this. My preference is to put everything in the base scenario and then make various elements inactive in the child scenarios which I will actually run. For example, make the PRVs inactive in the pressure breaker tank scenarios.

  • Hello Tom,

What is the correct approach to do what you have just suggested? Can you kindly please make changes on the attached file so that I can have a clear view on how you've highlighted, arranged the elements in the alternative tree. I tried to create a new child scenario with new child active topologies but unfortunately, elements in the base topology are also affected.
