HOW TO SET UP NEW TOPOLOGY SCENARIOS?

Hello Bentley ...

I have a model which I imported through the model builder. Can someone please give me a step by step guide on how I can be able to perform hydraulic analysis on the same model using different scenarios by introducing other new pipelines? Or, after simply introducing a new element such as a VALVE/PUMP, how can I set up a new scenario in the same file to accommodate my changes?

My worry is that when I make changes in the new scenario it affects the base scenario.

In the attached file, is it possible for me to create a new scenario in which all the PRVs will be replaced by 5m3 tanks which will act as pressure breakers?adopted.zip

  • Mulongo, I would strongly recommend going through the Quick Start Lessons in the help, which cover scenario management. If your organization has SELECT, you could also look at the available online training. Here is an article that lists other learning resources. You can also read more about how this works here: Scenario and Alternative Management

Further, here is an article that specifically addresses the use of the active topology alternative. It includes a video demonstration - Active Topology Management

You can look at some of the included example models such as Example5, to see scenarios with different active topology alternatives.
