HOW TO SET UP NEW TOPOLOGY SCENARIOS?

Hello Bentley ...

I have a model which I imported through the model builder. Can someone please give me a step by step guide on how I can be able to perform hydraulic analysis on the same model using different scenarios by introducing other new pipelines? Or, after simply introducing a new element such as a VALVE/PUMP, how can I set up a new scenario in the same file to accommodate my changes?

My worry is that when I make changes in the new scenario it affects the base scenario.

In the attached file, is it possible for me to create a new scenario in which all the PRVs will be replaced by 5m3 tanks which will act as pressure breakers?adopted.zip

  • Hello Tom,

Thank you for the reply. I reviewed the attached model. What I was asking was if the exact position of the PRV in the base file can be replaced with another element lets say a tank in the child scenario without affecting the base topology? I have managed to achieve what I want thanks to your mode. The only difference is that I had to create new pipe links with the new element in the child scenario since the original pipe links when used in the child scenario still stay referenced to the original 'frozen/deleted" base element making the model not to run.
