Demand Units in WaterGEMS

Does the "gpd" unit represent thousand gallons per day? For example, if my node has an actual demand of 1,200 gallons/day would the demand read 12 gpd in WaterGEMS?

  • Hello Amanda,

To understand what unit system is followed for your model you can go to Tools > Options and find the units set under the "Units" tab.

In the menu that appears you can view how the units are set as default "US Customary" or "SI". You can change these as per your preference or project requirements. You can change units for individual properties too.

Here is a relevant article which can guide to more towards understanding and changing unit system in Hydraulics and Hydrology products such as WaterGEMS.

Changing units in Properties, Flextables, graphs or profiles

    Hope this helps.
