I need to do a calibration for a static model. What data do I need to do the calibration? I do not have many tools to do it. Would it be useful to have pressures measured in hydrants at the time of maximum consumption or is it better to have a pattern of demand with pressures over time?On the other hand I have the version of WaterCAD CONNECT Edition 10.01.00.72 Can I work with DarwinCalibrator? If it is not possible there is another tool in WaterCAD that I can use to calibrate?
I thank you in advance and if someone has some document or something that helps me gather information to do the calibration it would be very helpful.
Hello Paula,
I recommend upgrading to WaterGEMS for the ability to use the Darwin Calibrator tool. The following articles explain how to use this tool.Using Darwin CalibratorCalibrating a model based on hydrant flow testsTo speak with someone about getting a license for WaterGEMS, please call 1-800-BENTLEY (236-8539), option 1.

Before you think about using Darwin, you should take the on-demand training class on calibration below.
https://learn.bentley.com/app/Public/ViewLearningPathWithMasterCourseExpanded?lpId=100007&mcId=100403
or read the chapter on Calibration in our Advanced Water Distribution Modeling book.
Darwin is nice once you have figured out why the model is out of calibration and you know what to adjust. Most of the problem is determining why the model is out of calibration in the first place.
If you send me your email address, I can send you some papers on calbiraion. tom.walski@bentley.com

Here is a paper that should get you started.
