Hi,
Is there away to make the time step jumps directly to the time of max HGL on a profile view. I can see the red tick marks of the max HGL but I want the simulation to jump and pause at that time?
thanks
Hello,
You can drag your time browser to the time which you wish to see (where your HGL tick marks are visible) and pause. If your HGL tick marks are occurring at regular intervals you can set the interval time in the Time Browser.
Hope this helps.

can CS automatically jump to the time step with max HGL. I want to drag or pause nothing to get there
No, the profiles cannot automatically jump to the time with with max HGL; that time may be different for all elements in the profile. You can view the "time to maximum hydraulic grade" property to help locate a suitable time to look at for a particular element of interest that is included in your profile.

Yes you are right. It is close timing for many elements but is still different.
Is there a way to plot a line across max HGL level tick marks on the profile view? It will be an envelope line rather than the HGL at a given time step.
Yes, it is possible to display the max HGL as a line series. This is done by making the Max HGL line series opaque in the Chart Options. You could also export to DXF and manipulate in MicroStation or AutoCAD. I have documented the details in the following new wiki article:
Displaying maximum HGL in profiles as an envelope line
