Terrain Model

Hello everyone,

I tried to saw my profile by inserting terrain file but I didn't understand why the program is forcefully inserting ground elevation at rim. I ave this problem in most of the profiles plot. Please find the following attachment.

Thank you,

  • Hello,

    1) Do you have "True" select for the node property "Update ground elevation from terrain model?"

    2) If "yes" to #1, does it help if you move the node location very slightly? (which should trigger it to update the ground elevation)

    3) What product and version are you using? (check under File > Help > About, or Help > About for older versions)

    4) What type of terrain model are you using? (Bentley DTM? LandXML? Etc.)

  • Yes, when I slightly moved node it changed the elevation after Design and analysis run.I am using LandXML. But the ground profile showing abruptly changed at rim as in the previous figure.

To update the ground elevation do I need to draw the inlets and pipes over scaled background layers otherwise how it will update the ground elevations at the particular place.I used schematic network.

  • Can you suggest me the latest connect edition so that I can download it to update my series 5.

Can I able to download the connect edition without updating the old series 5 so that I can use both .

  • Hello Hari.

The latest version of StormCAD is 10.01.01.04, which can be downloaded from link mentioned below.

Downloading Haestad / Hydraulics and Hydrology Software

However only one version of the product can be installed at a time on system. You cannot use both SELECT Series 5 & Connect Edition version on the same system.

  • Thank you so much as already Calvin suggest that models are forward compatible. Once again I would like to confirm the model that I created in series 5 will compatible in newer version 10.01.01.04. Right now I am at the middle of my work. Can I download the newer version and complete my rest of the work in new version?

  • To use InRoad files I am currently using 32 bit.Is there any difference the model created in 32 bit and 64 bit?

  • Hello Hari,

As suggested by Craig already, model created in SS5 can be opened in new version directly being forward compatible.

You can upgrade to the latest version and start working on your models from previous version, without any issue. But it is always recommended that you make a copy of your models saved in old versions as backup.

About 32-bit Vs 64-bit, models created in both versions are exactly same and you shouldn't find any difference in that.
