I am trying to add a background Aerial image of our city into WaterGEMs but don't have it as a single TIF file. I have access to it as a SID, Image Service, WMS. We are running v10.00.00.50 64bit.
Also, is it possible to reference an ArcMap session in WaterGEMs, so I can have my shapefile symbology maintained?
Any ideas would be great.
Thanks
Darryl
Hello Darryl,
MrSid files are supported in version of WaterGEMS that you are using as background layers, but that is possible only by using 32-bit version of WaterGEMS,
MrSid files are not available as a background layer type or an error is generated when loading MrSid files
WaterGEMS can be integrated with ArcMap directly and you can use WaterGEMS tools within ArcMap environment and maintain symbology or use WMS in that case.
Please note that ArcGIS 10.4.1 can be integrated with WaterGEMS 10.00.00.50 version, or lower versions of ArcGIS can also be integrated though fully not tested at our side.

In the CONNECT Edition of WaterGEMS, you can also directly add a Bing Map aerial image. See: Using Bing Maps as a Background
Otherwise, as Sushma said you can add multiple individual background layers including TIF, MrSid, shapefile and others.
